Dr. Reed Linenberger is the managing veterinarian and co-founder of Habitat Veterinary Hospital, with nearly two decades of experience caring for pets across Idaho. Originally from Bainbridge Island, Washington, he earned his bachelor’s degree in Zoology from the University of Washington before receiving his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Ross University. He completed his clinical training at the University of Wisconsin–Madison School of Veterinary Medicine.
Reed and his wife, Dr. Sohaila Maleki, met during veterinary school and moved to Boise in 2004. Together, they opened Habitat Veterinary Hospital in 2007—a one-room wellness clinic that has since grown into a trusted leader in the Treasure Valley veterinary community. In 2023, Reed helped lead Habitat’s expansion to the Wood River Valley with the acquisition of St. Francis Pet Clinic in Ketchum, originally founded by Dr. Karsten Fostvedt.
Dr. Linenberger is passionate about internal medicine, soft tissue surgery, and oncology, and brings a holistic approach to care through his certification in veterinary acupuncture and Chinese medicine. He completed his acupuncture training through the International Veterinary Acupuncture Society (IVAS) in 2015 and enjoys integrating traditional and complementary therapies to support lifelong pet wellness.
Reed currently splits his time between Habitat’s Boise and Ketchum locations, helping guide both teams while continuing to serve the pets and people who’ve made Habitat what it is today. Outside the hospital, he enjoys spending time with his wife and their two children, skiing in the Wood River Valley, and exploring Idaho’s wild spaces.
